In Canada heeft de afkeer van Trump ervoor gezorgd dat de partij van ex-Trudeau de meerderheid heeft gehaald in de verkiezingen. De partij was op sterven na dood, tot Trump Canada economisch aanviel, en van Canada de 51e staat wou maken.

Canada’s Liberal Party, led by Prime Minister Mark Carney, has won the country’s federal election, Canadian media projects, following a campaign overshadowed by relentless provocations and steep trade tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.

CNN affiliates CTV and CBC both projected that the Liberals would win enough seats to form a fourth consecutive government. But with votes still being counted, CBC News said it is too soon to say whether it will be a minority or majority government – a party needs 172 seats to form a majority.

Conservative opposition leader Pierre Poilievre conceded defeat on Tuesday night, saying Carney had won enough seats to form a “razor thin minority government”.

Former central banker Carney, 60, has led a wave of anti-Trump sentiment since winning his party’s leadership contest in a landslide after former prime minister Justin Trudeau stepped down last month. He has rallied the public against the US president’s threats to annex the country as “the 51st state” and made the defense of Canada a central part of his platform.

De poll van Fox News is niet de enige slechte poll van Trump.

Een nieuwe poll, vandaag bekendgemaakt, bevestigt wat de Amerikanen vinden van Trump: een grote meerderheid vindt dat hij de economie slechter gemaakt heeft.

We kunnen ons dus zeker aan een recessie in de US verwachten: consumenten die bang zijn, gaan minder uitgeven en versterken dus het effect van Trumps tarieven.

A 59% majority of the public now says President Donald Trump’s policies have worsened economic conditions in the country, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, up from 51% in March and on par with the worst numbers Joe Biden saw during his presidency.

Americans remain broadly unhappy with the nation’s economy, the survey finds, and there’s little enthusiasm for the White House’s sweeping new trade policies. With the impact of new tariffs still largely to come, 6 in 10 already say that Trump’s policies have increased the cost of living in their community, with just 12% saying his agenda has helped to bring prices down.

China is tot nu toe de grote winnaar van Trumps oorlog. Keer op keer moet Trump inbinden met zijn tarieven. Ondertussen versterkt China allianties met andere landen. US is totaal onbetrouwbaar geworden.

Ook op monetair vlak versterkt China hun positie. Het wantrouwen in de USD doet beleggers vluchten naar de EURO en de yuan, en China profiteert ervan om de yuan nog meer als wereldmunt te promoten.

The Trump administration took aggressive aim at Amazon today, after reports that the company would begin displaying the added cost of President Donald Trump’s tariffs on items. White House Press secretary Karoline Leavitt called the move a “hostile and political act.”

Punchbowl News reported earlier Tuesday that Amazon will soon “display how much of an item’s cost is derived from tariffs — right next to the product’s total listed price.” The move could directly illustrate to American consumers how Trump’s tariffs are impacting the cost of goods.

But it threatens to erode any goodwill the company, and founder Jeff Bezos, has built up with the Trump administration.

“This is a hostile and political act by Amazon,” Leavitt said at a White House press briefing, noting that she had spoken about the matter with Trump earlier that morning.
